To summarize, ETHS gives students the opportunity to achieve a great, well-rounded education that will prepare them to tackle whatever life throws at them after they graduate. Students are encouraged to try different types of classes to probe their interests, all of which provide quality education. ETHS definitely has the resources that students need to be prepared for college and the real world from before-school breakfast programs to the wild-kit academy, a weekend program that students can attend if they need extra help.ĮTHS's curriculum of classes prepares students for different career paths and opportunities, from academic classes like AP English to more trades-focused classes like Manufacturing Technology. However, as with any school, you get out what you put in. I feel very prepared for my collegiate pursuits and very lucky that I got to attend this school. Senior: The teachers are qualified, and kind people, and I have learned a throughout my time at ETHS. To this day, I constantly hear news of my former classmates excelling in their careers (even more so than my peers from college) - which is just another reason I am so grateful to call myself a New Trier alum!. I was able to start a service club with my best friend that still exists to this day! Beyond that, though New Trier has a reputation for lacking diversity, I personally formed friendships with a wide range of peers from different cultures who were first-generation Americans like myself.
Though I was a bit jaded as a teenager and didn't realize how good I had it, New Trier offers endless academic and extracurricular opportunities that are practically unheard of in a majority of school districts. As I continue to advance in my career and experience new school districts, it becomes increasingly evident to me that New Trier is truly one of the best schools in the nation (if not the best!). Alum: I graduated from New Trier a little over a decade ago and am currently working in education.
